How can we help you?
Pantrists configuration options
There are many options to make Pantrist YOUR app. Here you can find a list of the different options.
Settings on the device
All settings in this category apply only to this device and have no effect on your other devices. The following options can all be found in the settings, which you can access from the side menu ('settings').
Always limit item names to one line
In order not to make the details of an item too long, item names are always limited to one line. However, if you always want to see the full name of each item, you can disable this option.
Enable automatic categorization of items
Items are automatically categorized based on their names. This means that an item must be processed on the server before it is added to your list. This requires an internet connection. You can deactivate the categorization via the option so that only the history of added items serves as an aid for categorization.
Pantrist always uses the monetary unit assigned to the language of your device for the item prices. If you want to use a different currency, you can set it here.
The dark mode changes the colors used in Pantrist, making the app appear darker overall. Unless otherwise selected, the color scheme you have set on your device will always be used here.
You can select the best before date either via the native date selection of your device, or with a custom representation. Regardless of your selection, you can always enter your date as text in the format "mm/dd/yyyy". The points or the year can also be omitted.
Extract quantity of items from the name
By default, Pantrist extracts the quantity of the item from the name entered. If you don't want this, you can disable it here. Then the name of the item will remain exactly as you entered it and no information will be retrieved.
Show found images from the barcode search in the item
When items are scanned via the barcode, the stored information is retrieved. Often there is also an image included, which is displayed at the top of the item. Here you can disable the loading of images from the database.
Sorting categories & pantries
You can customize the sorting of your pantries and categories.
Open the item details if the item was found during the quick barcode search
When you search for an item with the barcode search on the home page, the details of the found item will be opened. If you disable the option, your pantry list will be opened and the scanned barcode will be searched.
Sorting of the items in stock
You can customize the sorting of the items in the supplies overview.
Sorting of items
You can customize the sorting of the items. This sorting always refers to the items within a group (e.g. within a category).
Grouping of items
By default, your items are arranged as in the shopping list, i.e. by category. However, you can also display your items sorted by pantries to have a better overview of your pantries. Additionally, you can view all items below each other without grouping.
Mark items as open
With this option, you can mark items as open in the details and enter approximately how much is left in the product. This way, you can see how long the item is already open and manage your supplies even better!
Show categories in the pantries
This option allows you to set whether categories should be displayed in the pantry list within a location.
Manage the quantity per item
With the management of the number per item, you can change the number of items directly with + and - on the item in the overview. Then, you don't have to open the item itself when removing or adding a product.
Function when swiping left or right
The right/left swiping function can be configured to give you a more natural flow when managing your supplies.
Sorting of items
You can customize the sorting of the items. The sorting always refers to the items within the categories.
Keep screen awake on the shopping list
Pantrist keeps your screen active on the shopping list, so the screen won't turn off all the time while shopping. If you don't want that, you can disable it here.
Filtering by markets
In order to better organize your purchases and, for example, to be able to look out for special offers, you can sort the items according to markets. If you don't wish to do this, you can deactivate it here.

If you don't need this additional list and want to delete your items immediately or move them to your pantry, you can deactivate this option.
